A Gunner with the Royal Horse Artillery, Charles died on 23rd of September 1918 aged 28. Charles was born at Kirkley on 8 February 1890, a son of Charles and Anna Maria Lingwood. He was baptised at Saint Peter’s Church, Kirkley, on 6 April 1890. In 1891 his family lived at 15 Lorne Road. Between 1901 and 1911 they lived at 67 Lorne Park Road and in 1911 Charles was a general carter.   Pension Record Card
A Private with the 12th Battalion, George died on 20th of September 1917 at the age of 22. George was born at Lowestoft on 26 June 1895, a son of James and Mary Ann Hall. He was baptised at Christ Church, Lowestoft, on 11 August 1895, and his family lived at 4 Anguish Street. By 1901 they were living at 18 Factory Street, and by 1911 at 3 Worthing Road and George was a drift net fisherman.  Pension Record Card
Walter George Gooch
A Private with the 7th Battalion, Walter died on 23rd of November 1917 at the age of 20. Walter was born at Lowestoft in 1897, a son of Walter William and Charlotte Evelina Gooch. He was baptised at Saint Margaret's Church on 16 May 1897 and at that time his family lived at 51 Clemence Street, Lowestoft. His first names were Walter George Vincent. In 1901 his family loved at 8 Factory Street, Lowestoft, and by 1911 they had moved to 149 Saint Margaret's Road. The 1911 Census shows that Walter worked as an assistant at a boot and shoe merchants.  Pension Record Card
William  Ling
A Corporal with 2nd Bn., William died on 14th of March 1915 at the age of 26. William was born at Lowestoft on 20 April 1888, a son of Samuel and Maria Ling. In 1891 his family lived at 35 Oxford Road, Lowestoft, and this was still their home in 1901. On 8 December 1910 William married Barbara Ellen Cannell at Saint Margaret's Church, Lowestoft. A Sergeant with the 7th Battalion, George died on 9th of August 1916 at the age of 26. George was born at Lowestoft on 16 August 1889, a son of William and Elizabeth Gower. He was baptised at Christchurch, Lowestoft, on 5 November 1890 and his family lived at 7 Factory Street. In 1891 they lived at 11 Compass Street, and this was still their home in 1901. By 1907 they were living at 7 Jacobs Street. Pension Record Card
A Private with the 6th Battalion, John died on 29th of September 1918 aged 38. John was born at Lowestoft on 4 August 1879, a son of John and Emma Mariah Bond. He was baptised at Christ Church on 28 March 1880. In 1881 his family lived at 5 South Arnold Street, and in 1891 at Walton Road which was still their residence in 1901 when John was an apprentice sailmaker. Pension Record Card
A Trimmer with H.M. Trawler Glenprosen, Bertie died on 3rd of November 1916 at the age of 17. Bertie was born at Barsham, near Beccles, on 17 March 1899, a son of Samuel and Emma Eliza Stebbings. In 1901 his family lived at The Cottage, Roos Hall, Barsham. In 1911 his family lived at Oulton Street, Oulton. Later their home was at 8 Meadow Cottages, Oulton, Lowestoft. Bertie joined the Royal Naval Reserve on 14 July 1915, claiming to be two years older than he actually was. A Skipper with H.M. Drifter Launch Out, Horace died on 29th of October 1916 at the age of 38.Horace was born at Haddiscoe on 8 May 1878, a son of George and Sarah Kemp. In 1881 his family lived near the church at Haddiscoe and this was still their address in 1891. Horace went to school at Haddiscoe.  De Ruvigny
A Lance Corporal with the 7th Battalion, Sidney died on 21st of March 1916 at the age of 28. Sidney was born at Broome, Norfolk, on 14 October 1887, a son of Robert and Anna Barber. From 5 May 1890 to 23 October 1899 Sidney was a pupil at Broome School. By 1901 his father had died and his family lived at Yarmouth Road, Broome, and Sidney was a bricklayer’s labourer.  Pension Record Card

Brian died on 7th of October 1916 at the age of 19. Brian was born at Lowestoft on 17 February 1897, a son of Henry and Mary Hadfield Jenkins. Throughout Brian’s life his family lived at 2 Pier Terrace, Lowestoft.Brian attended Roman Hill School and, from 15 September 1909 was a pupil at Lowestoft School of Science.  Pension Record Card, memorial plaque
