Roland Aubrey Leighton
A Lieutenant with the 7th Battalion, Roland died on 23 December 1915 at the age of 20. Roland was born at Saint John’s Wood, London, on 27 March 1895, a son of Robert and Marie Leighton. He was baptised at All saints’ Church, Saint John’s Wood, on 4 May 1895 and his family lived at 40 Abbey Road and this was still their home in 1911. By 1913 his parents were living at Heather Cliff, Lowestoft, and later lived at Chickeny Cottage, Warwick Road, Bishop’s Stortford.  De Ruvigny
Antrobus Taft Harris
A Lieutenant with 1st Bn., Antrobus died on 19th of March 1916 at the age of 26. Son of Clement and Mary Harris of Ellangown, Crieff, Scotland. Antrobus was born at Middlesborough where his father was organist at Saint Paul's Church. Antrobus studied music and was a graduate of the University of Edinburgh. He became the organist at Saint James' Episcopal Church, Cupar, Scotland, before, in July 1914, becoming the organist and choir master at Saint Peter's Church Kirkley. the100, De Ruvigny
Formerly an Engineman with the Royal Naval Reserve, William died on 3rd of July 1917 at the age of 41. William was born at Elvington, Yorkshire, on 9 March 1876, a son of Maria Smallwood. By 1881 he was living with his mother, siblings, and stepfather, at Hadenham, Norfolk. In 1891 he was working as a farm servant at The Farm House, Shipmeadow, Suffolk. (Note in the 1881 and 1891 Censuses his surname is given as Shulver, which was his mother's surname from 1877 onwards).  RNR Service records
A Seaman with the Royal Naval Reserve, Thomas died on 14th of January 1918 at the age of 28. Thomas was born at Lowestoft on 31 December 1889, a son of Charles Edward and Sarah Coleman. In 1891 Thomas' family lived at 25 Jacob's Street, Lowestoft, and this was his home throughout his life. By 1911 Thomas was working as a fisherman. The 1911 Census shows him as the Forth Hand on the trawler Loch Lomond at Padstow.  Pension Record Card
A Private with the 25th Battalion, Henry died in 1921 at the age of 22. Henry was born at Lowestoft in 1899, a son of George Henry and Eliza Robinson. He was baptised at Saint Margaret's Church, Lowestoft, on 6 August 1899, and his family lived at 22 Mariners Street and this was still their home in 1901.By 1917 Henry was living at 13 Salisbury Road, Lowestoft, with his uncle and aunt John and Alice Gross.  Pension Record Card
A Petty Officer with H.M.S. Marmora, Robert died on 25th of January 1920 at the age of 39. Robert was born at Oulton on 22 January 1881, a son of John and Harriet Anne Godfrey. He was baptised at Saint Michael's Church, Oulton, on 24 June 1881. In 1891 his family lived at Horne Hill, Kirkley. Later his parents lived at Southwold House, Bridge Road, Oulton Broad. 1911 Census
Formerly a Private with the Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry, George died on 24th of February 1916 at the age of 33. George was born at Lowestoft in 1883. He was a son of George and Harriet Barnes. At various times his family lived at Raglan Street and Chapel Street.  Army Service Papers
Formerly a Deck Hand with the Royal Naval Reserve, William John died on 23rd of November 1919 at the age of 25.William was born at Lowestoft on 15 November 1894, a son of Joseph and Alice Belton. In 1901 his family lived at 58 Reeve Street and by 1911 they were living at 34 Worthing Road and William was working as a fisherman.  Pension Record Card
William Robert Beecroft
A Driver with 12th Battery, died on 23rd of October 1914 at the age of 29. William was born at Lowestoft on 29 August 1875, a son of William henry and Sarah Ann Beecroft. He was baptised at Saint Margaret's Church, Lowestoft, on 7 November 1875. In 1881 William's family lived at Prospect Place, 6 Saint Peter's Street, and by 1886 at Reeve Street. From 6 September 1886 William attended Saint Margaret's Boys' School. In 1891 William's family lived at The Black Swan Inn, Old Market Place, Lowestoft, where his father was the publican. A Private with the 8th Battalion, Sidney died on 6th of March 1917 at the age of 20. Sidney was born at Carlton Colville in 1896, a son of Stephen Frederick and Harriet Woods. In 1901 his family lived at Park Road, Rock Estate, Oulton, and by 1911 they were living at 4 Rock Road, Rock Estate, Oulton Broad.Sidney volunteered and enlisted in the Army at Lowestoft. He joined the Suffolk Regiment, service number 13996, and arrived in France with the 8th Battalion on 25 July 1915. Pension Record Card
