Thomas Ayres Coleman

A Seaman with the Royal Naval Reserve, Thomas died on 14th of January 1918 at the age of 28. Thomas was born at Lowestoft on 31 December 1889, a son of Charles Edward and Sarah Coleman. In 1891 Thomas' family lived at 25 Jacob's Street, Lowestoft, and this was his home throughout his life. By 1911 Thomas was working as a fisherman. The 1911 Census shows him as the Forth Hand on the trawler Loch Lomond at Padstow. Pension Record Card

Henry George Samuel Robinson

A Private with the 25th Battalion, Henry died in 1921 at the age of 22. Henry was born at Lowestoft in 1899, a son of George Henry and Eliza Robinson. He was baptised at Saint Margaret's Church, Lowestoft, on 6 August 1899, and his family lived at 22 Mariners Street and this was still their home in 1901.By 1917 Henry was living at 13 Salisbury Road, Lowestoft, with his uncle and aunt John and Alice Gross. William John Belton

Formerly a Deck Hand with the Royal Naval Reserve, William John died on 23rd of November 1919 at the age of 25.William was born at Lowestoft on 15 November 1894, a son of Joseph and Alice Belton. In 1901 his family lived at 58 Reeve Street and by 1911 they were living at 34 Worthing Road and William was working as a fisherman. Pension Record Card

William Robert Beecroft

A Driver with 12th Battery, died on 23rd of October 1914 at the age of 29. William was born at Lowestoft on 29 August 1875, a son of William henry and Sarah Ann Beecroft. He was baptised at Saint Margaret's Church, Lowestoft, on 7 November 1875. In 1881 William's family lived at Prospect Place, 6 Saint Peter's Street, and by 1886 at Reeve Street. From 6 September 1886 William attended Saint Margaret's Boys' School. In 1891 William's family lived at The Black Swan Inn, Old Market Place, Lowestoft, where his father was the publican. William Edward Hunter

A Private with the 7th Battalion, William died on 28th of May 1918 aged 31.William was born at Carlton Colville in 1887, a son of Henry John and Elizabeth Hunter. He was baptised at Saint Peter’s Church, Carlton Colville, on 24 April 1887. In 1891 his family lived at Ship Corner, Carlton Colville, and by 1901 at South Elmham Terrace, Carlton Colville. In 1911 their home was at 18 Sycamore Avenue, Oulton Broad, and William was a boot repairer. Pension Record Card

Sidney George Woods

A Private with the 8th Battalion, Sidney died on 6th of March 1917 at the age of 20. Sidney was born at Carlton Colville in 1896, a son of Stephen Frederick and Harriet Woods. In 1901 his family lived at Park Road, Rock Estate, Oulton, and by 1911 they were living at 4 Rock Road, Rock Estate, Oulton Broad.Sidney volunteered and enlisted in the Army at Lowestoft. He joined the Suffolk Regiment, service number 13996, and arrived in France with the 8th Battalion on 25 July 1915. Pension Record Card

Arthur Frederick Harper

A Guardsman with 1st Battalion, Arthur died on 19th of December 1916 at the age of 20. Arthur was born at Lowestoft in 1896, a son of Joseph and Sarah Eliza Harper. He was baptised at Saint Margaret’s Church on 8 May 1896 and his family lived at Carlton Road. In 1901 his family lived at 6 Victoria Road, Carlton Colville. By 1911 they were living at 1 School Road, and Arthur was assisting his father as a jobbing gardener. Pension Record Card

Harry Thomas Chipperfield

A Gunner with 14th Heavy Artillery Group, Harry died on 12th of April 1917 at the age of 40. Harry was born at Oulton Broad on 15 December 1876, a son of Charles Thomas and Mary Elizabeth Chipperfield. He was baptised at Saint Michael’s Church, Oulton, on 10 June 1877. In 1881 his family lived at Mutford Bridge, Oulton. By 1891 they lived at 6 Beccles Road, Oulton, and Harry was a butcher’s assistant working with his father. In 1901 they lived at the Butcher’s Shop, Cambridge House, Bridge Road, Oulton. Harry’s father died in 1911 and later his mother moved to Streatham, London. Pension Record Card

George Thomas Manning

A Private with the 7th Battalion, George died on 14th of April 1919 at the age of 29. George was born at Lowestoft on 17 January 1890, a son of John Bryant and Harriet Elizabeth Manning. He was baptised at Saint John the Baptist Church, Reedham, Norfolk, on 6 April 1890, and his family lived at 61 Tonning Street, Lowestoft. In 1901 his family lived at 2 Gladstone Cottages, Tonning Street. By 1911 his family were living at 9 Kent Road and George worked as a fish merchant’s labourer. Pension Record Card

Jonas Annis

A Private with 10th Company, Jonas died on 3rd of May 1917 at the age of 23. Jonas was born at Lowestoft on 20 July 1893, a son of Jonas and Ellen Annis. He was baptised at Saint Margaret’s Church, Lowestoft, on 9 August 1893, and his family lived at 16 Mariners Street, Lowestoft. Jonas’ father died in 1895 and his mother married Edward Ashby. In 1901 his family lived at Woods Loke, Oulton, Lowestoft. By 1911 they were living at 12 Fir Lane, Lowestoft, and Jonas was a brickmaker’s labourer. Pension Record Card
