A Deck Hand with H.M. Drifter John Mitchell, Charles died on 8th of February 1915 at the age of 16.Charles was born at Oulton Broad on 1 May 1898, a son of George and Jane Turrell. In 1901 his family lived at 33 Victoria Road, Carlton Colville. By 1911 they were living at 3 Lavinia Terrace, Commodore Road, Oulton Broad, and later their address was 112 Commodore Road.Charles joined the Royal Naval Reserve on 6 February 1915 and served on the drifter John Mitchell.  CWGC
A Sergeant with the 7th Battalion, Albert died on 8th of February 1917 at the age of 29. Albert was born at Lowestoft on 1 March 1890, a son of James and Alice Buck. He was baptised at Saint Margaret’s Church on 16 August 1891, and his family lived at Oulton Corner. In 1901 his family lived at Hall Lane, Oulton. By 1911 his family were living at 3 Hall Lane, Oulton. By 1911 Albert was lodging with William Hunton, and family, at the Farm, Thornton Hill, Easingwold, Yorkshire. Pension Record Card
A Private with 9th Bn., Kenneth died on 21st of February 1916 at the age of 20.Kenneth was born at Holloway, London, on 24 October 1895, the only son of Harry Thomas and Adelaide Samuel. In 1901 his family lived at 7 Grand Parade, Archway Road, Hornsey. By 1911 they were living at 24 Wilton Road, Muswell Hill. In 1916 they lived at 149 Beedell Avenue, Westcliff, and subsequently they lived at 2 Raglan Street, Lowestoft. Kenneth was educated at Tollington School, Muswell Hill, London, and subsequently became an Analytical and Metallurgical Chemist.  De Ruvigny
A Lance Sergeant with H.M.S. Proserpine, Edward died on 6th of December 1944 aged 40. Edward was born at Lowestoft on 28 April 1904, a son of Arthur Edward and Harriet Jane Clarke. He was baptised at Saint John’s Church on 20 May 1904 and his family lived at Edward House, Stanford Street. In 1911 his family lived at Stanford House, 47 Stanford Street.In 1926 Edward worked as an Assistant Steward with the Merchant Navy on S.S. Orvieto.  1939 Register
A Sergeant with the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, Brian died on 2nd of December 1944 aged 22. Brian was born at Lowestoft on 1 November 1924, a son of Leonard E. and Bessie M. Coleman. In 1939 his family lived at 251 Victoria Road, Oulton Broad, and Brian was till at school.Brian joined the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve after October 1942. In December 1944 he was a member of 70 Squadron based at Tortorella, Italy.  1939 Register

A Private with the 1/6th Cyclist Bn., Frederick died on 20th of February 1915 at the age of 22.Frederick was born at Lowestoft on 19 April 1892, a son of William and Mary Ann Osborne of 33 Salisbury Road, Lowestoft. Frederick worked as a waiter at the Imperial Hotel, Lowestoft.He volunteered in October 1914.Frederick died at the Isolation Hospital, Lowestoft, 'of a disease contracted while on active service.' James died on 25th of December 1943 at the age of 34. James was born at Lowestoft on 22 October 1909, a son of Clifford and Rose May Blyth (note this is verified by Pension Record Card details for his father, but some sources give his father's name as James). A Seaman with H.M. Yacht Rosabelle. Ernest died on 11th of December 1941 at the age of 38. Ernest was born at Wrentham on 2 April 1904, a son of Walter and Ethel Elizabeth Love. In 1918 his family were living at Mill Cottages, Ellingham. By 1921 they had moved to 6 Catherine Terrace, London Road, Pakefield, and Ernest was a fisherman. In 1939 his family lived at 12 Beaconsfield Road, Lowestoft, and Ernest worked as a fisherman. 1939 Register
A Seaman with H.M. Trawler Canna. Joseph died on 5th of December 1942 at the age of 22. Joseph was born at Lowestoft on 8 September 1920, a son of Thomas George and Emily Godbold. In 1921 his family lived at 57 Seago Street, Lowestoft. Later his father lived at 35 Beaconsfield Road, Lowestoft. Joseph was serving on the Canna, at Lagos, when an accidental explosion took place and the vessel was burnt out. Six of the crew, including Joseph, were killed. Joseph's sister-in-law, Jessie, was killed in an air raid in 1942. His nephew, Leonard, was killed in 1941.  Probate
