A Chief Stoker with H.M.S. Shrapnel, Henry died on 18th of March 1944 at the age of 52. Henry was born at Lowestoft on 14 April 1892, a son of George and Jane Davis. He was baptised at Saint John’s Church, Lowestoft, on 10 June 1892, and his family lived at 3 Selby Street, Lowestoft. Henry attended Saint John’s Infants School before, on 5 February 1900, becoming a pupil at Saint John’s School. In 1900 his family lived at 3 Selby Street. A Chief Engineer with Fishing Vessel Aberdeen LT123 (Lowestoft). Frederick died on 11th of March 1941 at the age of 40. Frederick was born at Kessingland on 29 July 1900, a son of Thomas and Rose Elizabeth Catchpole. In 1901 his family lived at Zulu Cottages, Kessingland. By 1911 they were living at 2 Saint Margaret's Terrace, Church Street, Pakefield, and later at 45 Saint Margaret's Road, Pakefield. Frederick married Emma Phoebe Martha Watson in 1924. In 1939 they were living at Florio, Long Road, Pakefield, and Frederick was a trawler engineer.  1939 Register
A Mate with M.V. Novio, Alfred died on 14th of March 1941 at the age of 37. Alfred was born in 1903, a son of George and Edith Marjoram. He was baptised at Saint Edmunds Church, Kessingland, on 17 January 1904. In 1911 his family lived at Gladstone Cottages, London Road, Kessingland. Alfred married Gwendoline Wigg in 1927. In 1939 Alfred, Gwendoline, and children, lived at Davies Cottages, Kessingland, and Alfred was a fisherman.During World War Two Alfred served with the Merchant Navy and was a Mate on the Dutch vessel Novio. An Able Seaman with S/V B.H.C. 9, William died on 6th of March 1941 at the age of 44.William was born at Kessingland on 11 August 1896, a son of William and Laura Roth. He was baptised at Saint Edmund's Church, Kessingland, on 18 October 1896. In 1901 his family lived at Clifton Villa, Kessingland, and the 1911 Census shows them living at Clifton House, Kessingland. They were still living at Clifton House in 1921 and William worked as a fisherman.  Merchant Navy Casualty Card
A Private with 10th Battalion Suffolk Regiment, Alexander died on 1st of January 1918 at the age of 37. Alexander was born at Lingwood in 1880, a son of Mary Ann (Marion) Littlewood. The 1881 Census records Alexander, and his mother, being inmates at Lingwood Workhouse. By 1891 Alexander was living at 6 Hervey Street, Lowestoft, with his grandmother, Ann Littlewood, and Alexander worked as a hawker- news (boy). In 1901 Alexander worked as a labourer, in London, and lodged at 24 Longfellows Road, Mile End.  Pension Record Card
A Private with the 6th Battalion, Arthur died on 28th of March 1918. Arthur was born 'Near The Bell', Carlton Colville, in 1888, a son of Walter and Emily George. In 1891 his family lived at 16 Severn Terrace, Oulto Broad. By 1901 they were living at Chipperfields Yard, Bridge Road, Oulton. By 1911 Arthur's father had died and his family lived at 5 Lothing Street, Oulton Broad.Arthur begin working as a lock keeper for the Great Eastern Railway in 1905 and he worked at Lowestoft Harbour. A Private with the 11th Battalion, Charles died on 22nd of March 1918 at the age of 23. Charles was born at Lowestoft on 9 November 1894, a son of Charles Alfred and Clara Elizabeth Brittain. He was baptised at Christchurch, Lowestoft, on 5 December 1894, and his family lived at 29 Queens Road, Lowestoft. In 1901 they lived at 10 Princes Road, Lowestoft. By 1911 they were living at 2 Alexandra Road, Lowestoft, and Charles was an iron monger’s assistant. A Leading Cook with H.M. Motor Minesweeper 8. Ernest died on 24th of June 1944 at the age of 29. Ernest was born at Lowestoft on 9 October 1914 a son of Ernest Henry and Letitia Moyse. In 1921 his family lived at 8 Jacobs Street, Lowestoft. On 8 October 1938 Ernest married Irene Violet Jackson at Saint Peter's Church, Kirkley. Ernest and Irene were both living at Kirkley and Ernest worked as a labourer. By 1939 they were living at The Nest, Long Road, Lowestoft, and Ernest worked as a general labourer.  1939 Register

A Private with the 1st Battalion, Gordon died on 28th of June 1944 aged 19. Gordon was born at Lowestoft on 27 November 1924, a son of Frederick and Emma Florence Jarvis. In 1939 his family lived at 2 Walmer Road and Gordon was a carpenter’s apprentice.Gordon joined the Suffolk Regiment and served with the 1st Battalion in France. His battalion landed at Sword Beach on D-Day and went on to attack, and take, German positions at Colleville-sur-Orne before moving to a position near the Periers Ridge.   1939 Register
