A Sergeant with the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, Maurice died on 3rd of June 1942 aged 24. Maurice was born at Lowestoft on 29 August 1917, a son of Stanley Arthur and Alice Gertrude Waller. In 1921 Maurice's family lived at 8 Gordon Road, Lowestoft, and by 1939 they were living at The Hall, Gorleston Road, Oulton, and Maurice was an articled clerk to a Chartered Accountant.  Maurice joined the Royal Air force Volunteer Reserve after April 1940. He was a Wireless Operator. In June 1942 he served with 85 Squadron. Probate
An Ordinary Seaman with H.M.S. Acasta, Herbert died on 8th of June 1940 at the age of 20. Herbert was born at Oulton Broad on 17 November 1919, a son of Alfred George and Edith Mary Pratt. In 1939 his family lived at 4 Gilpin Terrace, Gilpin Road, Oulton Broad, Lowestoft, and Herbert worked as a boat builder.  CWGC and 1939 Register
A Private with the 1/8th Battalion, John died on 15th of June 1918 at the age of 39. John was born at Oulton Broad in 1878, a son of John and Eliza Hines. He was baptised at Saint Michael’s Church, Oulton, on 2 March 1879. The 1881 Census shows John at Beccles Road with relatives Adam and Kezia Aggas. In 1891 John’s family lived at Church Road, Rock Estate, Oulton, and John was an agricultural labourer.   CWGC
A Deck Hand with H.M. Drifter Ocean Fisher, William died on 16th of June 1918.William was born at Oulton Broad on 6 July 1897, a son of William and Katherine Mingay. He was baptised at Saint Mark’s Church, Oulton Broad, on 9 September 1897. In 1901 his family lived at South Elmham Terrace, and by 1911 they were living at 83 Kimberley Road. A Private with the 1st Battalion, Horace died on 29th of June 1917 at the age of 20. Horace was born at Wandsworth, London, on 8 October 1896, a son of Charles John and Louisa Sarah Horne. He was baptised at Saint Peter’s Church, Vauxhall, London, on 22 November 1898, and his family lived at 5 South Lambeth Road. In 1901 they lived at 208 Earlsfield Road, Wandsworth.  CWGC

A Private with the 5th Dragoon Guards, John died on 11th of June 1915 at the age of 36. John was born at Lowestoft on 5 April 1879, a son of William and Sarah Breach. He was baptised at Saint Margaret's Church, Lowestoft, on 7 December 1879. In 1881 his family lived at 48 Haward Street, Lowestoft. By 1891 they were living at 22 Lorne Park Road, Kirkley. A Sergeant with the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, Edward died on 25th of July 1943 aged 24. Edward was born at Bradwell on 12 July 1919, a son of Andrew Howes and Gertrude Eliza Crowe. In 1921 his family lived at Bright Road, Bradwell. By 1939 they were living at 179 Gorleston Road and Edward was a body maker’s apprentice. In 1940 Edward married Ethel Maud Davis, this was registered in the Lothingland district. Hugh Riches Morling
A Leading Aircraftman with the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, Hugh died on 3rd of July 1943 aged 33. Hugh was born at Lowestoft on 24 August 1909, a son of Ernest Jabez and Ada Maria Morling. In 1911 his family lived at Snowdon House, 146, London Road North. By 1921 they were living at 23 Old Nelson Street and later his father lived at 45 Gunton Drive. In 1935 Hugh married Winifred May Gouldby. By 1939 Hugh and Winifred were living at 20 Ipswich Road and Hugh was the director and joint manager of Pearn’s Radio and Music Retailers and Repairers.  1939 Register, bestpic, FEPOW
A Private with 1st Bn. John died on 9th of July 1944 aged 19. John was born at Lowestoft in 1925, a son of Harry Leon and Adelaide Alice May Allen. John's father died in 1926 and in 1929 his mother married Ernest Bridge. Throughout his life John's family lived at 64 Saint George's Road, Lowestoft.John served with the 1st Battalion Royal Norfolk Regiment. His battalion landed on Red Queen Beach on D-Day, 6 June 1944.  1939 Register
A Third Hand with Fishing Vessel Leach’s Romance (Shoreham), George died on 29th of July 1940 aged 43. George was born at Lowestoft on 24 August 1896, a son of Frederick James and Emma Hindes. In 1901 his family lived at 2 Mummery Buildings ‘rear of Till Road’ and this was still their home in 1911. By 1914 George was living at 19 Cathcart Street.  Merchant Navy Casualty Card
