Noah Ayers
A Cable Hand with His Majesty's Telegraph Ship Monarch, Noah died on 8th of September 1915 at the age of 50.Noah was born at Lowestoft in 1865, a son of James and Matilda Ayers. He was baptised at Saint Margaret's Church, Lowestoft, on 5 November 1865. In 1871 the family's address was 'Beach, near the Gas Works' and in 1881 their address was 'By East Street'. By 1881 Noah was working at sea. On 12 June 1886 Noah married Martha Maria Betmead at Saint Margaret's Church. In the 1890s they lived at 2 Whapload Road and by 1911 their home was at 20 Worthing Road, Lowestoft. the100
A Sergeant with the 7th Battalion, Ivan died on 8th of July 1944 aged 25.Ivan was born at Lowestoft on 21 February 1919, a son of William and Lilian Doris Flowers. In 1939 Ivan was living with his parents at The Red Lion Inn, The Street, Blundeston. In 1936 Ivan played football for the Eastern Coachworks. From 1937 to 1938 he played professionally for Wolverhampton Wanderers, and from 1938 to 1940 for Mansfield Town. the100
Ernest Alfred Bennett
A Private with the 2nd Battalion, Ernest died on 24th of January 1916 at the age of 29.Ernest was born at Worlingham in 1886, a son of Alfred and Mary Ann Bennett. He was baptised at Worlingham on 25 April 1886. In 1891 his family lived at Haithe Road (sic), Worlingham, and by 1901 were living at Wingfield Road, Bungay, and Ernest worked as an apprentice harness maker. A Master (Skipper) with Trawler Rupee (Brixham), Ernest died on 3rd of October 1917. William was born at Carlton Colville in 1870, a son of Henry and Mary Ann Hawkes. He was baptised at Saint Peter's Church, Carlton Colville, on 29 January 1871. His family lived 'near The Bell' Carlton Colville and this was still their address in 1881.  the100

An Able Seaman with Hawke Battalion, Harold died on 9 October 1917, at the age of 27.Harold was born at Clapham on 29 June 1889, a son of Edwin Charles and Emily Bird. In 1901 his family lived at 32 Crater (sic) Road, Brixton, London, and by 1911 they were living at 40 Montrose Avenue, West Kilburn. Before moving to Lowestoft Harold has resided at 11 Piccadilly, Manchester.  the100
A Private with the 10th Battalion, James died on 5th of September 1918 aged 19.James was born at Heckingham, Norfolk, on 19 May 1899, a son of Charles and Elizabeth Kemp. In 1901 his family lived at The Street, Rushmere. James was a pupil at Gisleham School from 1903 to 1908 when he joined Mutford School. In 1911 his family lived at Gisleham Road, Rushmere. A Second Hand, George died on 23rd February 1916 at the age of 16.George was born at Lowestoft, a son of George Edward and Mary Shiplee.  In 1901 his family lived at 6 Fir Lane, Lowestoft, and by 1911 at 5 Sterry's Cottages, London Road, Pakefield.Eventually his mother lived at 2 The Prairie, Lowestoft, before moving to Beccles and then Welling, Kent. George's brother Gordon served in the Royal Naval Reserve, on H.M.S. A Fourth Hand with the trawler Guide, William died on 23rd February 1916 at the age of 15.William was born at Pakefield on 24 September 1900, a son of Walter William and Agnes Emily Thompson. He was baptised at All Saints' and Saint Margaret's Church, Pakefield, on 11 November 1900. William's family lived at 1 Florence Road, Pakefield, and this was still their home in 1911. From 9 May 1904 William attended Cunningham Infants School. During the First World War, William served as the Fourth Hand on the Lowestoft based trawler 'Guide'.  the100
