A Private with the 2nd Battalion, Arthur died between 10 May and 26 June 1940, aged 27. Arthur was born at Pakefield in 1913, a son of Jack and Sarah Florence Reeve. In 1921 his family lived at 2 Wellington Road, Pakefield. By 1939 his widowed mother lived at 22 Edgerton Road.  the100, Dunkirk
A Driver with 1 Mechanical Equipment Unit, Leslie died on 26 November 1946, aged 21. Leslie was born at Rickenhall, Suffolk, on 8 July 1925, a son of Ernest George and Minnie Garnham. In the 1930s his family lived at Redgrave and, by 1946, his mother was living at 8 Wellington Road, Pakefield.   the100
Formerly a Private with the Royal Pioneer Corps, George died on 21 January 1947, aged 45.George was born at Lound in 1901, a son of George and Eleanor Eliza Bloss. He was baptised at Saint John the Baptist Church, Lound, on 29 September 1901. In 1911 they lived at Pond Farm Cottage, Herringfleet. By 1921 George was serving with 29 Battery Royal Garrison Artillery in Germany. A Pilot Officer with the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, Richard died on 23 November 1942, aged 20. Richard was born at Pakefield on 25 December 1921, a son of Owen Eardley and Florence Gray. He was baptised at All Saints’ Church, Pakefield, on 12 February 1922, and his family lived at Sunnyholme, Carlton Road. By 1939 they were living at 10 Grayson Avenue and Richard was draughtsman and student and was also a member of the Auxiliary Ambulance.  the100
A Skipper with H.M. Trawler Shamrock, George died on 7 February 1940, aged 35. George was born at Oulton Broad on 9 November 1904, a son of George James and Ada Hannah Catchpole. He was baptised at Saint Mark’s Church, Oulton Broad, on 26 March 1905, and his family lived at Sycamore Estate. The 1911 Census shows George with his maternal grandparents, Robert and Hannah Wilson, at Beccles Road, Oulton Broad. By 1939 George’s parents were living at 83 Victoria Road.    the100
A Skipper with H.M. Trawler Royalo, William died on 1 September 1940, aged 45.William was born at Pakefield on 24 August 1895, a son of William Durrant and Susan Warford. In 1915 William lived at Rochester Road, and then at 8 Rant Score East.  Distinguished Service Cross, the100
A Lieutenant with H.M.S. Martello, William died on 28 January 1942, aged 48. William was born at Wivenhoe, Essex, on 10 September 1893, a son of William Frederick and Margaret Christina Cockrell. He was baptised at Saint Mary’s Church, Wivenhoe, on 26 October 1893. By 1901 his family had moved to Lowestoft and lived at 4 Waveney Drive, and this was still their address in 1911 when William worked as an engineer. By 1916 their home was at Chesterfield House, Lowestoft, and later his parents lived at Arlington, North Parade. the100

A Skipper with H.M. Trawler Myrtle, William died on 14 June 1940, aged 41.William was born at Southwold, Suffolk, on 30 October 1898, a son of Harry and Emily Winter. He was baptised at Saint Edmund’s Church, Southwold, on 4 December 1898. In 1911 his family lived at 7 Primrose Alley, Southwold, and by 1915 William was living at 12 Oulton Street, Oulton, Lowestoft.  the100
A Seaman with H.M. Trawler Myrtle, George died on 14 June 1940, aged 22.George was born at Lowestoft on 13 February 1918, a son of Joseph and Annie Elizabeth Winney. George was baptised at Saint Margaret’s Church on 14 March 1918 and his family lived at 19 Rant Score, and this was still their address in 1921. By 1939 George was living with his parents at 114 Whapload Road and he was a trawler fisherman.    the100
