Frederick James Munnings
A Lance Corporal with the 2nd Battalion, Frederick died on 15th of November 1914 at the age of 34.Frederick was born at Lowestoft in October 1880, a son of William David and Anna Maria Munnings. In 1881 his family lived at 37 Saint Peter's Street, Lowestoft. Frederick's father died and in 1884 his mother married George Smith. In 1891 his family lived at 111 Saint Peter's Street. Frederick attended Saint John's School and, from 4 May 1891, Saint Margaret's Boys School.  the100
A Younker, with the Steam Drifter Liliy, John died on 7th of October 1914 at the age of 39. John was born at Frostenden in 1875, a son of John and Harriet Bickers. In 1881 his family lived at Frostenden. By 1891 they had moved to 49 Lorne Road, Kirkley, and this would be John's home for the rest of his life. In 1891 he worked as a grocer's errand boy. By 1901 John was working as a fish packer.  the100
Charles Copeland
A Second Hand with H. M. trawler Princess Beatrice. Charles died on 5th October 1914 at the age of 30. Charles was born at London on 29 October 1883, a son of Charles Henry Copeland. Charles married Annie Louisa Swan Pearson at Saint Margaret's Church, Lowestoft, on 13 September 1905. At that time he was a fisherman living at 249 Raglan Street, Lowestoft. By 1911 Charles and Annie were living at 52 Haward Street and later at 57 Bevan Street, Lowestoft. Charles had been awarded his Certificate of Competency as a Second Hand in 1908.   the100
A Second Hand with H.M. Drifter George V, Alfred died on 3rd June of 1917 at the age of 34.Alfred was born at Sotterley, on 18 August 1882, a son of Amos and Ellen Brown. In 1891 his family were living at 2 Kiln Road, Sotterly, but by 1901 they had moved to London Road, Kessingland, and Alfred had begun work as a fisherman. the100
A Private with 2nd Battalion, Edward died on 24th of February 1917 at the age of 24. Edward was born at Lowestoft on 5 January 1898, a son of George and Mary Ann Whale. Edward attended Saint Andrews School and, from 17 September 1900, was a pupil at Saint Margaret’s School. His family lived at 85 Oxford Road, Lowestoft. Later they lived at 22 Kimberley Road, Lowestoft. By 1911 his family were living at 19 South Elmham Terrace, Victoria Road, Oulton Broad. Later his parents lived at 18 Wellington Road, Pakefield, Lowestoft.   the100
A Rifleman with 1st Battalion, Reginald died on 1st of November 1918 at the age of 20. Reginald was born at Lowestoft on 12 January 1893, a son of George and Mary Ann Whale. In 1901 his family lived at 85 Oxford Road, Lowestoft, and later lived at 22 Kimberley Road, Lowestoft. Reginald attended Church Road School and, from 27 September 1909, became a pupil at Saint John’s School. Lowestoft. By 1911 his family were living at 19 South Elmham Terrace, Victoria Road, Oulton Broad. Later his parents lived at 18 Wellington Road, Pakefield, Lowestoft.    the100

In 1901 his family lived at Beach Street, Pakefield, and by 1911 at 35 Saint George’s Road, and William was a telegraph messenger.  the100
A Private with the 13th Battalion, Herbert died on 30th of November 1917 at the age of 34. It is difficult to establish the facts of Herbert’s early life. The 1911 Census states that he was born at Kentish Town, London, and would have been born in 1883. Soldiers Died in the Great War gives his place of birth as Hampstead, London.Herbert was also, at times, known as Albert, Albert William, and Berty. the100
