A Private with the 7th Battalion, Ernest died on 12th of October 1916 at the age of 36. Ernest was born at Lowestoft in 1880, a son of Frederick William and Charlotte Elizabeth Larke. He was baptised at Saint Margaret’s Church on 7 March 1880. In 1881 his family lived at the Mariners Inn, 54 Mariners Street, where his father was the innkeeper. By 1891 they were living at 26 Bevan Street. In early 1901 Ernest lodged at 7 Surrey Street, Lowestoft, with Alfred Hales, Maud’s brother, and Ernest worked as a coachman.  the100
A Private with 1/10th Bn., Alfred died on 2nd of November 1917 at the age of 24. Alfred was born at Lowestoft in 1893, a son of Charles and Elizabeth (Lily) Leech. In 1901 his family lived at 30 Edinburgh Road, Lowestoft, and by 1911 at 10 Osborne Street, Lowestoft, and Alfred worked as a clothier. Alfred was living at Stoke Newington when he enlisted in the Army at Hackney. He joined the 10th London Regiment, service number 4055. He was posted to the 1/10th Battalion and arrived in Egypt on 13 July 1916 to join the Battalion.  the100
A Private with the 9th Battalion, John died on 26th of June 1917 at the age of 28. John was born at Pakefield on 10 February 1889, a son of Robert and Emily Julings. In 1891 his family lived at Old Rectory Cottage, 24 Pakefield Street, Pakefield. From 4 April 1892 John attended Cunningham Infant School. By 1901 they were living at 94 Pakefield Street, Kirkley, and, in 1911, 17 Pakefield Street and John worked as a yachtsman.  the100
A Private with the 1st Battalion, William died on 24th of June 1917 at the age of 28. William was born at Lowestoft in 1889, a son of Robert and Mary Ann Howlett. In 1891 his family lived at Laundry Road. William's mother died in 1895 and in 1901 William and his father lodged with Maria Baldry at 92 Cambridge Road, Lowestoft. William's father died around 1908. In 1911 William was till lodging with Maria Baldry at 92 Cambridge Road and he worked as a grocer's assistant. the100
Antrobus Taft Harris
A Lieutenant with 1st Bn., Antrobus died on 19th of March 1916 at the age of 26. Son of Clement and Mary Harris of Ellangown, Crieff, Scotland. Antrobus was born at Middlesborough where his father was organist at Saint Paul's Church. Antrobus studied music and was a graduate of the University of Edinburgh. He became the organist at Saint James' Episcopal Church, Cupar, Scotland, before, in July 1914, becoming the organist and choir master at Saint Peter's Church Kirkley. the100, De Ruvigny
A Private with the 8th Battalion, Ernest died on 28th of September 1916 at the age of 33. Ernest was born at Lowestoft on 7 December 1883, a son of Edward and Eliza Hales. He was baptised at Saint Margaret’s Church, Lowestoft, on 3 February 1884. In 1891 his family lived at 11 Cathcart Street. By 1901 they were living at 80 Clapham Road and Ernest was a bricklayer, possibly working with his father. Ernest's mother died in 1902. Later his father lived at 25 Bevan Street.  the100
A Private with the 21st Battalion, Samuel died on 24th of November at the age of 20. Samuel was born at Mundham, Norfolk, in 1897, a son of Samuel and Emily Elizabeth Grimmer. In 1901 his family lived at 31 The Street, Lound, and by 1911 they were living at Lound Street, Blundeston, and Samuel was a farm labourer. Later his mother lived at 71 Northumberland Street, Norwich, before moving to Hunters Cottages, Kessingland Beach.Samuel enlisted in the Army at Norwich. He joined the Middlesex Regiment, service number G/24464, and was posted to the 23rd Battalion in France.   the100
A Private with 164th Company, Louis died on 1st of August 1917 at the age of 38. Louis was born at Lowestoft in 1879, a son of Thomas and Mary Maynard. In 1881 his family lived at 4 Nelson Street and by 1891 at West Bevan Street. In the family lived at 67 Norwich Road and Louis was a footman. Later his family lived at 57 Lorne Park Road. In 1911 Louis was working as a domestic coachman for Annie Hammond and lived at 17 Westgate, Bury St. Edmunds.  the100
A Corporal with the 12th Battalion, Edward died on 18th of July 1917 at the age of 40. Edward was born at Lowestoft on 25 April 1877, a son of James and Sarah Dunnett. He was baptised at Saint Margaret’s Church, Lowestoft, on 3 June 1877. In 1881 his family lived at Wicks Court, Saint Peter’s Street. Edward attended Arnold Street School and, on 22 February 1886, became a pupil at Saint Margaret’s School. At this time his family lived at Chapel Street and by 1891 they were living at 12 Oxford Road. the100
A Private with the 7th Battalion, Arthur died on 28th of April 1917 at the age of 29. Arthur was born at Lowestoft on 7 June 1887, a son of George and Sarah Ann Dann. He was baptised at Saint Peter’s Church, Kirkley, on 24 July 1887, and his family lived at Warnes Buildings (sic), Kirkley. By 1891 his family were living at Stanley Cottages, 2 Carlton Road, and this was still their home in 1901. Later his parents lived at 81 Kimberley Road.  the100
