A Civilian, Elsie died on 13th of January 1942 aged 19. Elsie was born at Lowestoft on 14 June 1922, a daughter of William and Elsie May Petherick. In 1939 her family lived at 4 The Prairie and Elsie was a waitress at a restaurant. Later her parents lived at Lilac Cottage, Wenhaston, Halesworth. A Civilian, Maurice died on 13th of January 1942 aged 17.Maurice was born at Lowestoft on 27 September 1924, a son of George Leonard and Evelyn May Garrod. In 1939 his family lived at Tintern House, Chapel Street, and Maurice was a drapery porter.Maurice was an Air Raid Precautions messenger. A Deck Hand with H.M. Trawler New Comet. Clifford died on 20th of January 1917 at the age of 32. Clifford was born at Lowestoft in on 4 April 1885, a son of John Joseph and Jane Anne (Annie/Anna) Blyth. He was baptised at Christchurch, Lowestoft, on 29 April 1885 and his family lived at 3 Strand Cottages. By 1891 his father had died and his family lived at Anguish Street. Lost Street
A Private with 3rd Bn. Ernest died on 17th of January 1915 at the age of 17. Ernest was born at Lowestoft in 1898, a son of Louisa Mary Oldman. He was baptised at Saint Margaret's Church on 21 September 1899 and his mother lived at 3 Wesleyan Chapel Lane. In 1901 his family were living at 1 Wesleyan Chapel Lane. His mother later married William Edmonds and in 1911 Ernest lived with his mother and step-father at 8 White Horse Street. Later his mother lived at 27 Chapel Street Lowestoft.Lost Street
An Engineman with H.M. Trawler Kingston Beryl. James died on 25th of December 1943 at the age of 34. James was born at Lowestoft on 22 October 1909, a son of Clifford and Rose May Blyth (note this is verified by Pension Record Card details for his father, but some sources give his father's name as James). A Private with 9th Bn. Edward died on 28th of December 1916 at the age of 40. Edward was born at Lowestoft in 1876, a son of Simon and Mary Ann Smith. In 1881 his family lived at 4 Bircham Square, East Street. In 1891 they lived at 17 Anguish Street. By 1901 Edward's father had died and his mother had married James Moss and his family lived at 21 Anguish Street. In 1901 Edward was working as a general labourer. By 1911 his family were living at 12 Anguish Street and Edward worked as a fish hawker on his own account.Lost Street
A Private with the 2nd Battalion, George died on 16th of August 1916 at the age of 37. George’s first names were Philip George, but in all of his military service he used George as his first name. He was born at Lowestoft on 1 June 1879, a son of William George and Louisa Neeve. In 1881 his family lived at 14 Dove Street. George was baptised at Saint Margaret’s Church on 1 August 1886. A Rifleman with 2/17th Bn., Charles William died on 7th of August 1916 at the age of 25.Charles was born at Lowestoft on 26 October 1891 a son of George Thomas and Janet Moody Kent. He was baptised at Christchurch, Lowestoft, on 18 November 1891 and his family lived at 35 East Street. His family were still living at 35 East Street in 1901. By 1911 his family was living at 66 East Street, Lowestoft. Charles joined the Army, at Lowestoft, and, initially, served with the 6th (Cyclist) Battalion Suffolk Regiment, service number 2076.Lost Street
