A Civilian, Ronald died on 9th of April 1941 at the age of 15. Ronald was born at Lowestoft on 22 December September 1925, a son of Bertie Frederick and Rose Clarke. By 1939 his family were living at 100 Rotterdam Road.Ronald, his parents, two of his brothers, and several neighbours were killed in an air raid when a bomb hit the air raid shelter, at 100 Rotterdam Road, where they were taking cover. 090441 raid
A Civilian, Rose died on 9th of April 1941 aged 46. Rose was born at Lowestoft on 8 October 1894, a daughter of Charles Henry and Isabelle Chapman. In 1901 they lived at 15 Scarle’s Buildings, Whapload Road, and this was still their home in 1911 when Rose worked as a net mender.On 26 December 1918 Rose married Bertie Clarke at Saint Margaret’s Church. They both gave their address as 63 Oxford Road. In 1921 they lived at 23 Payne Street and Bertie was a trawler fisherman. By 1911 his family were living at 137-138 High Street, Lowestoft, and by 1921 they were living at 72 Carlton Road. On 11 July 1936 Roy married Winifred Alice Ansted at Saint Margaret’s Church. Roy was a joiner living at 8 Windsor Road, and Winifred lived at 2 Station Road. By 1939 they were living at Saint Lucia, Warren Road, and Roy was a carpenter and joiner. 090441 raid
A Civilian, John died on 9th of April 1941 at the age of 82. John as born at Stradbroke, Suffolk, on 4 March 1859, a son of William and Susannah Elwood. He was baptised at Stradbroke on 26 January 1862. In 1871 his family lived at Barley Green, Stradbroke.It seems that John began work as a Railway Signalman about 1877. In 1881 he was a lodger at 34 Osprey Street, Rotherhithe. On 20 October 1881 John married Emma Fanny Cattermole at Saint Mary Magdalen Church, Peckham. A Civilian, Beatrice died on 9th of April 1941 at the age of 53. Beatrice was born at Lowestoft on 28 January 1888, a daughter of Thomas W. and Catherine C. Fitt. In 1891 her family lived at 29 Cambridge Road. By 1901 they were living at Victoria Villa, Queens Road, and this was still their home in 1911 when Beatrice worked as a dressmaker, on her own account. Beatrice was baptised at Saint Margaret's Church, Lowestoft, on 11 December 1912, and her family lived at Hazlemere, Alexandra Road. 090441 raid
A Civilian, James died on 9th of April 1941 at the age of 58. James was born at Knock, County Down, Ireland, on 22 November 1882, a son of James and Agnes Miller. In 1901 his family lived at Knock Avenue, Pottinger, County Down, and James was a clerk. By 1911 they were living at Kings Road, Pottinger. On 23 January 1918 James married Beatrice Emma Fitt at Saint Margaret's Church, Lowestoft. James was an agent and they both gave their address as Hazlemere, Alexandra Road, Lowestoft. 090441 raid

In 1901 she lived with her family at Haughley, and at some point her parents lived at 16 Duke Street, Haughley. A Civilian, Douglas died on 10th of April 1941 aged 17. Douglas was born on 29 December 1923, a son of Robert and Kathleen Emma Sherrington. Douglas was probably born at Aldringham with Thorpe, where is father was a Police Constable. By 1939 Douglas’ father had died and his family lived at Denehurst, Park Road, Lowestoft. Douglas was a member of a First Aid Post and was injured when the First Aid Post at Till Road was bombed on 9 April 1941, he died the next day at Lowestoft and North Suffolk Hospital. 090441 raid
