A Civilian, Susan died on 13th of January 1942 at the age of 48.Susan, sometimes known as Susie, was born at Newmarket on 28 August 1893, a daughter of William Danton and Martha Coleman. In 1901 her family lived at 9 Stevens Street, Lowestoft, and by 1911 at 77 Norwich Road, Lowestoft, and Susie was a shop assistant at the 'Fancy Bazaar.'  130142 The Waller Raid
A Civilian, Edith died on 13th of January 1942 at the age of 27. Edith was born at Lowestoft on 17 July 1914, a daughter of John Stephen Stanley and Ruby Beatrice Lambert. She was baptised at Saint Margaret's Church, Lowestoft, on 8 October 1914, and her family lived at 1 Compass Street, which would be her home for the whole of her life. In 1939 Edith worked as a shop assistant.Edith died at London Road North during the air raid on 13 January 1942. Edith's uncle Herbert Lambert was killed in 1915 whilst serving with the Royal Fusiliers.  130142 The Waller Raid
A Civilian, Olive died on 13th of January 1942 aged 20. Olive was born at Carlton Colville on 16 May 1921, a daughter of James and Marion Victoria Thrower. She was baptised at Saint Peter’s Church, Carlton Colville, on 26 June 1921 and her family lived at Todd’s Cottages, Carlton Colville. Later her family lived at Sandy Lane, Gisleham. Olive died at Waller’s Restaurant, 90 London Road North, during the Waller Raid.  130142 The Waller Raid
A Civilian, Oliver died on 13th of January 1942 aged 50. Oliver was born at Colchester on 27 February 1891 a son of James Edward Golding and Priscilla Golding. His family lived at 27 Saint Mary’s Road, Colchester. Oliver was baptised at Saint Botolph’s Church, Colchester, on 16 October 1900, and his family lived at 66 Priory Street, which was still their home in 1911 when Oliver was a grocer’s assistant.  130142 The Waller Raid
A Civilian, James died on 23rd of January 1942 aged 35. James was born at Lowestoft on 22 October 1906, a son of Donald and Lily Guthrie. In 1911 his family lived at 8 Burton Street. By 1921 James lived at 5 Hope Terrace, Kessingland, and James was an apprentice monumental sculptor working for his father. In 1939 James lived with his family at Red Bungalow, Kessingland Beach, and James was a monumental sculptor. Later his parents lived at Xantho, Green Lane, Kessingland. James died at Stanley Street during an air raid. 230142 raid
Muriel Evelyn  Jean Whitlam
A Civilian, Muriel died on 13th of January 1942 aged 20. Muriel was born at Lowestoft on 4 October 1921, a daughter of William Robert and Alice Maud Whitlam. In 1939 her family lived at 8 Oaklands Terrace, Kessingland, and Muriel was in domestic service. Muriel at Waller’s Restaurant, 90 London Road North, during the Waller Raid. Muriel was buried at Saint Edmund’s Churchyard, Kessingland, on 22 January 1942. A Civilian, Alfred died on 13th of January 1942 aged 46. Alfred was born at Hitcham, Buckinghamshire, on 26 March 1895, a son of Edward and Ann Slater. He was baptised at St Mary’s Church on 5 May 1895. In 1901 his family lived at 4 Bath Cottages, Hitcham, and this was still their home in 1911 when Alfred was an outfitter’s apprentice. By 1921 his family were living at Rotherby, Station Estate, Burnham, Buckinghamshire, and Alfred was an outfitters assistant for J. Hatton & Co. Gentleman’s Outfitters at 3 Queens Street, Maidenhead. 130142 The Waller Raid
A Civilian, Ethel died on 13th of January 1942 at the age of 23. Ethel was born at Great Yarmouth on 6 May 1918, a daughter of Thomas W. ands Maud Kate Moore. In 1921 her family lived at 9 Saint George's Road, Great Yarmouth. By 1939 they were living at 123 Beccles Road, Oulton Broad, and Ethel worked as shop assistant.Ethel died at London Road North. 130142 The Waller Raid
A Civilian, Audrey died on 13th of January 1942 aged 34. Audrey was born at Lowestoft on 15 December 1907, a daughter of Herbert John and Lucy Emma Moyse. She was baptised at Saint Peter’s Church, Carlton Colville, on 26 July 1908, and her family lived at 4 Gordon Terrace, Oulton Road. By 1911 her family were living at 3 Diamond Terrace, Beccles Road, Oulton Broad, and this was still their home in 1939 when Audrey worked as a kitchen help. Note that Audrey’s family’s address was also known as 75 Beccles Road. 130142 The Waller Raid
A Civilian, Dorothy died on 13th of January 1942 at the age of 35. Dorothy was born at Lowestoft on 3 March 1906, a daughter of Jack and Florence B. Crispin. From 16 January 1911 she attended Lovewell School, Kirkley. The 1911 Census shows her family living at 1 Bixley Place, Bixley Road, Lowestoft, and this was their home in for the rest of Dorothy's life. In 1921 Dorothy worked as a greengrocer's assistant for A. Dorling at London Road. By 1939 she was a printing machine feeder (unemployed). Dorothy died at London Road North. 130142 The Waller Raid
