A Civilian, Ernest died on 21st of August 1940 aged 68. Ernest was born at Lowestoft on 26 November 1871, a son of William and Martha Bultitude. In 1881 his family lived at 51 Tonning Street, and this was still their home in 1891. As a young man Ernest began working as a fisherman and in 1897 he was awarded his certificate of competency as a skipper.   210840 raid
A Civilian, Geoffrey died on 21st of August 1940 aged 30.Geoffrey was born at Lowestoft on 4 January 1910, a son of Edward Thomas and Harriet Murrills. In 1911 his family lived at 215-217 London Road. On 5 January 1914 Geoffrey became a pupil at Lovewell School. By 1921 his family were living at 21 Salisbury Road and in 1939 Geoffrey, and his widowed mother lived at 566 London Road and Geoffrey worked as a cost clerk at the cable works. Later his mother lived at 9 Higher Drive. Geoffrey was also a fireman with the Auxiliary Fire Service.  210840 raid
A Civilian, Georgina died on 10th of August 1941 at the age of 50. Georgina was born at Lowestoft, on 2 December 1890, a daughter of George William and Georgina Carr Nobbs. She was baptised at Christchurch, Lowestoft, on 7 January 1891, and her family lived at Searle's Buildings, The Beach, Lowestoft. By 1901 her family were living at 33 Ravenscroft Road, West Ham, but by 1911 they had returned to Lowestoft at lived at 32 Seago Street.  100841 raid

A Civilian, Alan died on 21st of August 1940 at the age of 19. Alan was born at Pakefield on 27 July 1921, a son of Walter Allen and Annie Gertrude Gosling. He was baptised at All Saints’ Church, Pakefield, on 11 September 1921, and his family lived at 20 Wellington Road. By 1939 his family were living at The Jolly Sailors, Pakefield Street, where his father was the licensee, and Alan was an apprentice engineering fitter. 210840 raid
A Civilian, William died on 10th of August 1941 at the age of 52. William was born at Clapham, London, on 27 March 1889. William married Georgina Honor Nobbs, at Lowestoft, in 1915, In 1921 William and Georgina were living at 32 Seago Street, and William had his own business as a tennis racket manufacturer, with premises at 155 London Road, Lowestoft.   100841 raid
A Civilian, John died on 21st of August 1940 aged 42. John was born at Lowestoft on 3 March 1898, a son of John and Eliza Hale. In 1901 his family lived at 65 Stevens Street, and this was still their home in 1921. John became a pupil at Saint John’s School on 8 January 1906. By 1921 John was working as a shipwright and he worked for William Derry boat-builders, at Commercial Road. In 1921 John married Dora Lydia Ruthen, their marriage was registered in the Mutford district. By 1939 they were living at 64 Stevens Street and John was a shipwright.  210840 raid
A Civilian, Kathleen died on 9th of April 1941 at the age of 28. Kathleen was born at Deal, Kent, on 13 July 1912, a daughter of Philip Wellington and Alice Amelia Smith. In 1921 her family lived at 8 Alfred Square, Deal. By 1933 they were living in Lowestoft and in 1939 her parents lived at the Coast Guard House, East Street.  On 9 December 1933 Kathleen married John Barnard at Saint Margaret’s Church. Kathleen lived at 44 Crown Street and John was a net loom worker living at 42 May Road. By 1939 their home was at 96 Rotterdam Road.  090441 raid
A Civilian, Patricia died on 9th of April 1941 aged 6. Patricia was born at Lowestoft on 21 September 1934, a daughter of John and Kathleen Mary Barnard. In 1939 her family lived at 96 Rotterdam Road. Patricia, her mother, sister, grandmother, and neighbours, died at 100 Rotterdam Road when their air raid shelter was bombed during an air raid.  090441 raid

A Civilian, Jack died on 9th of April 1941 aged 18. Jack was born at Lowestoft on 1 September 1922, a son of Bertie Frederick and Rose Clarke. He was baptised at Saint John’s Church on 22 September 1922 and his family lived at 23 Payne Street. By 1939 they were living at 100 Rotterdam Road and Jack worked at a factory making tinned rations.Jack, his parents, two of his brothers, and several neighbours were killed in an air raid when a bomb hit the air raid shelter, at 100 Rotterdam Road, where they were taking cover.   090441 raid
