A Civilian, Dorothy died on 22nd of July 1941 at the age of 20. Dorothy was born at Lowestoft on 18 August 1920, a daughter of Dennis George and Lily Maud Cox. She was baptised at Saint Peter's Church, Kirkley, on 3 September 1920, and her family lived at 58 Lorne Park Road. In 1939 her family were living at 42 Lorne Park Road and Dorothy worked at a factory (paste and jam?). Dorothy died at her home during an air raid. 220741 Raid
A Civilian, Henry died on 22nd of July 1941, aged 46. Henry is believed to have been born at Whitechapel, London, on 1 January 1894, however his year of birth may have been 1895. His father was Robert Cox. No member of Henry’s family can be traced in any census record before 1921, however Henry and two of his brothers served in the Royal Marine Light Infantry and details of their early life have been found in their service records. 220741 Raid
A Civilian, Benjamin died on 22nd of July 1941 at the age of 60. Benjamin was born at Lowestoft on 22 June 1881, a son of Robert King and Mary Ann Clarke. He was baptised at Saint Margaret's Church, Lowestoft, on 7 August 1881. In 1885 his family lived at 51 Bevan Street and in 1891 they lived at 12 Grosvenor Road, Kirkley. By 1901 they were living at 17 Beckham Road and Benjamin was a sawyer. 220741 Raid
A Civilian, Charles died on 9th of February 1941 at the age of 57. Charles was born at Lowestoft on 2 March 1883, a son of William and Phoebe Lydia Drake. He was baptised at Oulton on 22 April 1883. The 1891 Census shows Charles with his grandparents at 9 Cambridge Road, and he was still living with them at that address in 1901 when he worked as a house painter. In 1911 Charles lived with his parents at 8 Stevens Street and he worked as a blacksmith's striker. 070241 Harbour Yard raid
A Civilian, John died on 7th of February 1941 aged 42. John was born at Lowestoft on 25 July 1898, a son of James and Agnes Quantrill. In 1901 his family lived at 6 Water Lane and this was still their home in 1911. By 1921 his family were living at 17 Water Lane and this was John’s home for the rest of his life. In 1928 John married Lilian Winifred Rachael Smith, this was registered in the Mutford district. 070241 Harbour Yard raid
A Civilian, Florence died on 4th of February 1941 at the age of 72. Florence was born at Lowestoft on 22 May 1869, a daughter of John Farrar and Elizabeth Spurgeon. She was baptised at Christchurch, Lowestoft, on 4 July 1869. In 1871 her family lived at 29 Nelson Square, Whapload Road. By 1881 they were living at 1 Frost's Alley, Lowestoft. In 1891 they lived at Crow's Buildings, Whapload Road, and by 1901 at 57 Edinburgh Road. 040241 raid
A Civilian, Henry died on 7th of February 1941 aged 32. Henry was born at Barnby on 14 March 1908, a son Henry Charles and Beatrice Rackham. In 1911 his family lived at 14 Sycamore Avenue, Carlton Colville. In 1921 their address was 37 Sycamore Avenue and later Henry’s parents lived at 56 Sycamore Avenue. 070241 Harbour Yard raid
A Civilian, Walter died on 7th of February 1941 aged 48. Walter was born at Beccles on 27 December 1892, a son of John D. and Elizabeth H. Hawes. In 1901 his family lived at 6 Factory Court, Factory Street, Lowestoft. By 1911 they were living at 14 Rotterdam Road. Walter became a labourer with the Great Eastern Railway and worked at Lowestoft September 1916. 070241 Harbour Yard raid
A Civilian, George died on 7th of February 1941 aged 55. George was born at Everton, Liverpool, on 4 March 1885, a son of George Main and Jane Isabella Smith. In 1891 his family lived at 26 Newburgh Street, Amble, Northumberland. On 17 November 1908 George was became a Preventative Man with the Customs Service.
