A Civilian, Daisy died on 26th of May 1941 aged 37. Daisy was born at Lowestoft on 6 February 1905, a daughter of William Francis and Harriet Carron. She was baptised at Saint Margaret’s Church on 16 June 1905 and her family lived at Wood’s Loke. In 1911 her family lived at 4 Boggis Cottages, Wood’s Loke. In 1921 her family were living at 4 Wood’s Loke and Daisy was a beatster working for Offord and Geddes, net makers. 260541 raid
A Civilian, Lily died on 26th of May 1941 at the age of 38. Lily was born at Lowestoft on 27 February 1903, a daughter of William Edward Charles and Maud Lily Barnard.Her family lived at Potters Cottage, 7 Wood's Loke, Oulton Village. In 1939 Lily was a domestic servant 'unemployed'. Lily was killed, at 7 Wood's Loke, during an air raid. Her father also died in the air raid and her son, Norman, died as a result of the air raid. 260541 raid
A Civilian, William died on 26th of May 1941 at the age of 63. William was born at Kirkley on 4 October 1879, a son of William and Eliza Barnard. He was baptised at Saint John's Church on 17 September 1880 and his family lived at Richmond Terrace. In 1881 they were living at 14 Haward Street. By 1891 William's father had died and he lived with his mother at 3 Chester Cottages, Lovewell Road. From 12 July 1893 William was a fishing apprentice working for Alfred J. Britteon. 260541 raid
A Civilian, Ivan died on 26th of May 1941 aged 5. Ivan was born at Lowestoft in 1935, a son of Albert Edgar and Daisy Maudie Brady.The cottages at Wood’s Loke were seen as a place of safety and several people from the town moved there. On 26 May 1941 an enemy aircraft, while being harassed by anti-aircraft fire, discarded its bombs in the Wood’s Loke area which damaged the cottages and caused many casualties. 260541 raid
A Civilian, Harriett died on 26th of May 1941 at the age of 76. Harriet was born at Beccles on 25 February 1865, a daughter of Henry and Rhoda Farrow. In 1871 her family lived at Fitsall Alley, Northgate Street, Beccles. By 1881 her father had died, her mother had remarried, and the family lived at the Fox and Hounds, Ravensmeer, Beccles, and Harriet was a domestic servant. 260541 raid
An Aircraftman 1st Class with the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, John died on 12th of May 1941 aged 29. John was born at Lowestoft on 11 March 1912 a son of Frederic William and Fenella Woolnough. In 1921 his family lived at 127 Wollaston Road. By 1939 they were living at 1 Cottages, corner, Belvedere Road and John was an under manager with a retail grocery and food distributor. 120541 raid
A Civilian, Iris died on 17th of May 1941 at the age of 21. Iris was born on the 26th January 1920 and was a daughter of Albert and Ellen Maud Spurgeon of 36 Old Nelson Street Lowestoft Suffolk. The 1939 Register shows that Iris worked as a factory hand at a wire factory in Lowestoft and subsequently she went to work at Nuneaton, Warwickshire. 170541 raid, bestpic
A Civilian, Doris died on 12th of May 1941 aged 18. Doris was born at Lowestoft on 4 May 1923, a daughter of John and Mabel Rose Runacres. In 1921 her family lived at 32 Norwich Road and, by 1939, at 18 May Road, and Gladys was a grocer’s assistant. 120541 raid
A Civilian, Gladys died on 12th of May 1941 aged 27. Gladys was born at Lowestoft on 22 October 1913, a daughter of John and Mabel Rose Runacres. Gladys was baptised at Saint Margaret’s Church on 14 November 1913, and her family lived at 46 May Road. In 1921 her family lived at 32 Norwich Road and, by 1939, at 18 May Road, and Gladys was a book binder. 120541 raid
