Harold married Rhoda Batty, of Kirkley, in 1940.In late 1939 the 6th Battalion was stationed at Sheringham and in spring 1940 guarded the coast from Sheringham to Overstrand. He was baptised at Saint Margaret’s Church on 26 March 1897 and his family lived at Whapload Road. In 1901 their address was Robert’s Buildings, Whapload Road.
