Annie Davey
A Civilian, Annie died on 25 April 1916, aged 21.
Annie was born at Lowestoft on 31 March 1895, a daughter of William Robert and Emma Elizabeth Davey. In 1901 her family lived at 21 Roman Road, and by 1905 were living at 14 Factory Street. Annie attended Saint John’s School and in 1905 became a pupil at Saint Margaret’s School.
By 1911 her family were living at 20 Sandringham Road. On 25 April 1916, during the German bombardment of Lowestoft a shell went straight through the house, bringing down the upper floor, killing Annie, her brother Sidney and a baby. The baby's mother was seriously injured and two of Annie's other siblings were also injured.
Annie was buried at Lowestoft Cemetery, Normanston Drive, on 29 April 1916.
