A Driver with 22nd Battery, Percival died on 9th of May 1915 at the age of 21. Percival was born at Lound on 28 September 1894, a son of George and Louisa Cracknell. he was baptised at Saint Bartholomew's Church, Corton, on 4 November 1894. In 1901 his family lived at 12 Back Lane, Lound, and, by 1911, at Fern House, Back lane, Lound. Later his parents lived at The Corner, Lound, Lowestoft. bestpic

An Able Seaman with Drake Battalion, Walter died on 21st of March 1918 at the age of 19. Walter was born at Lowestoft on 29 November 1899, a son of Walter and Emily Piper. In 1901 his family lived at Bishop’s Buildings, Mariners Street. By 1911 they were living at 1 Infirmary Court, Saint Margaret’s Plain.Walter joined the Great Eastern Railway at Lowestoft on 19 July 1915. A Corporal with the 9th Battalion, Clifford died on 21st of March 1918 at the age of 21. Clifford was born at Barnby in 1897, a son of Thomas George and Ellen Bunn. In 1901 his family lived at Beccles Road, Barnby, and this was still their address in 1911 when Clifford worked as a butcher’s boy. A Leading Seaman with H.M. Submarine Grampus, Ronald died on 24th of June 1940 at the age of 33. Ronald was born at Lowestoft on 30 May 1906, a son of Edward Charles and Ethel May Albrow. He was baptised at Saint Margaret's Church, Lowestoft, on 22 June 1906, and his family lived at 12 Beckham Road. By 1911 his family were living at 87 Roman Road and this was still their home in 1921 when Ronald worked as a junior clerk for Colby Brothers, Shipbuilders, at Oulton Broad. A Seaman Cook with H.M.S. Europa, Walter died on 4th of June 1940 at the age of 39. Walter was born at Lowestoft on 9 May 1901, a son of James Alfred and Georgina Culham. He was baptised at Saint Margaret's Church on 15 March 1903 (the same day as his brother James) and his family lived at 65 Seago Street and this was still their address in 1911 and 1921. The 1921 Census states that Walter was 'in the Army.' bestpic

An Ordinary Seaman with H.M.S. Harvester, Francis died on 1st of June 1940 at the age of 18. Francis was born at Mells, Somerset, on 2 March 1922, a son of William Henry and Marguerite Mary Ayers. In 1921 his family had lived at 4 Vobslei Road, Mells, Frome, Somerset. By 1929 they were living at Corton and in 1939 their address was 1 Fair View, Corton. In 1939 Francis worked as an apprentice carpenter.  Dunkirk, bestpic
Hugh Riches Morling
A Leading Aircraftman with the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, Hugh died on 3rd of July 1943 aged 33. Hugh was born at Lowestoft on 24 August 1909, a son of Ernest Jabez and Ada Maria Morling. In 1911 his family lived at Snowdon House, 146, London Road North. By 1921 they were living at 23 Old Nelson Street and later his father lived at 45 Gunton Drive. In 1935 Hugh married Winifred May Gouldby. By 1939 Hugh and Winifred were living at 20 Ipswich Road and Hugh was the director and joint manager of Pearn’s Radio and Music Retailers and Repairers.  1939 Register, bestpic, FEPOW
Victor Robert Hook
A Gunner with 57 Field Regiment, Victor died on 19th of July 1944 aged 23. Victor was born at Lowestoft on 4 December 1920, a son of Robert William John and Janet Hook. He was baptised at Saint Edmund’s Church, Kessingland, on 15 May 1921 and his family lived at 4 Nelson Road, Lowestoft. In 1939 Victor and his family were living at 14 Fairfield Road, Clacton, Essex, and Victor was a general labourer. Victor married Eileen Maud Robinson in 1940, this was registered in the Lothingland district. Thomas Edward Sharman
A Private with the 7th Battalion, Thomas died on 3rd of July 1916 at the age of 27. Thomas was born at Lowestoft in 1889, a son of Thomas Edward and Mary Jane Sharman. He was baptised at Saint Margaret’s Church, Lowestoft, on 26 May 1889. In 1891 his family lived at 104 Cambridge Road and this was still their home in 1901. A Flying Officer with the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, John died on 23rd of January 1945 aged 23. John was born at Lowestoft on 8 May 1921, a son of John Pater Turner and Hilda Beatrice Turner. He was baptised at Saint Peter’s Church, Kirkley, on 4 June 1921, and his grandparents, Alfred J. and Elizabeth M. Turner, lived at Walmer House, London Road South. John, and his parents, lived at 73 Saint George’s Road, Newbury, Berkshire, in 1921, and by 1939 their home was at 32 Howard Road, Newbury, and John was a first year medical student.  bestpic
