Albert Edward Rose
A Trimmer with Steam Trawler Derwent (Boston), Albert died on 26th of January 1920 at the age of 18.
Albert was born at Lowestoft on 26 September 1901, a son of William Henry and Sarah Elizabeth Rose. He was baptised at Saint Margaret’s Church on 18 October 1901 and his family lived at 46 Raglan Street. Albert was a pupil at Saint Andrew’s School before joining Saint Margaret’s School on 11 January 1909 at which time his family lived at 53 Seago Street. By 1911 they were living at 75 Kimberley Road, and later they lived at 22 Essex Road.
In 1920 Albert worked on the Grimsby registered trawler Derwent, GY 525. The trawler was reported missing on 26 January 1920 and is thought to have struck a mine. The vessel was lost with all ten crew.

My father was Raymond George Rose, whose mother lived in Kimberley Road, I know he had brothers call Ivan he was the youngest and Desmond, sisters Joyce and Daphne who married Don, they had two children called Terry and Mavis. I am living in Grimsby and travel to Lowestoft in August 2025. I would like to try to make contact with some of my family.

My father was Ivan Alfred Rose, he married my mother Sylvia Rose. His siblings were Daphe, Ruby, Joyce, Rita and Dickie, the youngest. There were brother who lived in Grimsby but we didn't know them. I have 3 siblings Carol, Glennie and Brian. We all still live in Lowestoft
