Sidney Herbert Davey

A Civilian, Sidney died on 25 April 1916, aged 16.

Sidney was born at Lowestoft in 1900, a son of William Robert and Emma Elizabeth Davey. He was baptised at Saint Margaret's Church on 3 March 1900 and his family lived at 21 Roman Road. In 1905 his family lived at 14 Factory Street.

By 1911 his family were living at 20 Sandringham Road. On 25 April 1916, during the German bombardment of Lowestoft a shell went straight through the house, bringing down the upper floor, killing Sidney, his sister Annie and a baby. The baby's mother was seriously injured and two of Sidney's other siblings were also injured. 

Sidney was buried at Lowestoft Cemetery, Normanston Drive, on 29 April 1916.
