Michael Dann

A Cook with the Trawler Bucentaur, Michael died on 21st May 1947 at the age of 67.Michael was born at Aldeby on 4th March 1880, a son of George and Eliza Dann. In 1881 his family lived at Waterheath Cottage, Aldeby, near Loddon. By 1891 his mother had died, his father remarried, and the family had moved to Lowestoft, living at Stanley Cottages, 2 Carlton Road.Michael married Harriett Good at Gisleham parish church in 1905. By 1911 they were living at Black Street, Gisleham, and by 1918 they were living at Rhoda Cottages, Black Street, Gisleham. Bucentaur

Frederick Samuel Durrant

A Trimmer, Frederick died on 21st May 1947 at the age of 26.Frederick, also known as Samuel, was born on 8th July 1920, a son of Harry and Margaret Sarah Ann Durrant. He was baptised at Saint Margaret's Church on 29th July 1920 and his family lived at Whapload Road. Frederick's mother died in 1936.By 1947 Frederick was living at 3, Hill Top, Kirkley Run, Lowestoft. Bucentaur

James Sergeant

A Deck Hand, James died on 21st May 1947 at the age of 67.James was born at Chedgrave on 9th March 1880, a son of Daniel and Mary Sergeant. In 1881 his family lived at The Street, Chedgrave. By 1901 his family were living at The Pits, Chedgrave, and James worked as an agricultural labourer. In 1903 James married Kate Mary Vann and by 1911 they were living at 3a Carlton Road, Pakefield. It seems that James became a fisherman before 1911. Bucentaur

Ernest George Flowers

A Third Hand, Ernest died on 21st May 1947 at the age of 43.Ernest was born at Kirkley on 19th March 1904, a son of William and Mary Ann Flowers. He, along with his siblings, was baptised at Saint Peters Church, Kirkley, on 18th January 1907. In 1911 his family were living at 12 Saint Georges Road, Kirkley.Ernest married Edith Elizabeth Chapman in 1939 and they lived at 73 Pakefield Street, Lowestoft. Bucentaur

Frederick Jeremiah Warford

A Mate, Frederick died on 21st May 1947 at the age of 46. Frederick was born at Kirkley in 1901, a son of William Daniel and Laura Warford. In 1911 his family lived at 59 Saint Georges Road, Lowestoft.Frederick, like his father, was a fisherman. During World War One Frederick served with the Fisheries Reserve and became a Deck Hand on the drifter 'Lord Roberts' (LT 149) [Note this is not the trawler Lord Roberts that was sunk in 1916]On 6th January 1924 Frederick married Gladys Louisa Beavers at Saint Peters Church, Kirkley. Benjamin Arthur Crowford

A Second Engineer, Benjamin died on 21st May 1947, at the age of 59. Benjamin was born at Kirkley, Lowestoft, on 30th May 1887, a son of John and Hannah Eliza Crowford. He was baptised at Saint Peter's Church, Kirkley, on 25th July 1887. In 1901 his family lived at 4 Mill Road, Horn Hill, Lowestoft.Benjamin, like his father, became a fisherman.On 19th May 1913 Benjamin married Catherine Ann Large at Saint Peter's Church, Kirkley.
