George Alfred Crowe
A Sergeant with the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, George died on 2nd of December 1943 aged 19.
George was born at Beccles in 1924, a son of Fred and Lily Maud Crowe. In 1939 his family lived at 13 Hadenham Terrace, Carlton Colville.
George joined the Roya Air Force Volunteer Reserve as an aircraft apprentice. By December 1943 he was a Flight Engineer serving with 630 Squadron. He was a member of the crew of a Lancaster III bomber, number ED777 LE-Q, that took off from East Kirby on a raid to Berlin. The aircraft crashed at Gross Schulzendorf and all the crew were killed.
