Percy Block
A Lance Corporal with 10th Bn., Percy died on 18th of November 1916 at the age of 32.
Percy was born at Gisleham in 1884, a son of Jonah and Elizabeth Block. He was baptised at Saint Edmund's Church, Kessingland, on 30 August 1885. In 1891 his family lived at Church Road, Kessingland. By 1901 they were living at 5 Maud Terrace, Kessingland, and Percy was a laundry van driver.
Frank Covoso Dyke
A Private with 10th Bn., Frank died on 17th of November 1916 at the age of 30.
Frank was born at Carlton Colville on 3 June 1886, a son of Abraham and Anna Dyke. In 1891 his family lived at 9 Severn Terrace, Carlton Colville. Frank was baptised at Saint Peter's Church, Kirkley, on10 April 1900 and his family lived at 16 Severn Terrace, Kirkley Run. By 1901 they were living at Worcester Terrace, Carlton Colville, and Frank was a plasterer working for his father.
Ephraim Hart
A Private with 10th Bn., Ephraim died on 10th of April 1917 at the age of 41.
Ephraim was born at Kirkley in 1876, a son of Edward and Phoebe Hart. He was baptised at Saint Peter's Church, Kirkley, on 31 December 1876. In 1881 his family lived at 5 Saint George's Road, Lowestoft. By 1891 they were living at 1 Chester Cottages, Lovewell Road, and Ephraim was a labourer at an oil mill.

William John Peter Cooper
A Sergeant with the 11th Battalion. William died on 7th of August 1918 at the age of 33.
William was born at Lowestoft on 21 November 1884, a son of William and Mary Cooper. He was baptised at Saint Margaret's Church, Lowestoft, on 9 March 1890, and his family lived at 253 Raglan Street. In 1891 they were still living at 253 Raglan Street. By 1901 they were living at The Cottage, Waveney Drive, Kirkley, and William worked as an errand boy at the port. In 1911 they lived at Colville House, Carlton Colville, and later at Birds Farm, Birds Lane, Lowestoft.

Frederick Alfred Hunt
A Private with 12th Bn., Frederick died on 31st of July 1917 at the age of 19.
Frederick was born at Worcester in 1898, a son of Charles Arthur and Clara Hunt. He was baptised at Saint Mary's Church, The Tything, Worcester, on 13 July 1898, and his family lived at Cheshunt Walk, Worcester. In 1901 his family lived at 46 Ickleford Road, Hitchin, and by 1911 they were living at 150 Lincoln Road, Peterborough. Later his parents lived at 46 Denmark Road, Lowestoft.

Stanley Walter Baxter
A Private with 1st Bn., Stanley died on 11th of October 1918 at the age of 19.
Stanley was born at Barnby on 30 May 1899, a son of Walter James and Amelia Marcella Baxter. He was baptised at Saint John the Baptist Church, Barnby, on 25 June 1899. In 1901 his family lived at Barnby Green. In 1911 their address was 'near the Post Office, Barnby Green.'
In 1915 Stanley began work as a porter with the Great Eastern Railway at the Barnby Siding, Carlton Colville.

Joe Leslie Hicks
A Sergeant with 24th Bn., Joe died on 13th of November 1916 at the age of 22.
Joe was born at Banbury in 1894, a son of Harry John and Gertrude Hicks. In 1901 his family lived at 35 West Bar, Neithrop, Banbury. Later his parents lived at Hawthorn Cottage, Quorn, Loughborough.
By 1911 Joe was a bank clerk living at 51 Station Road, Sudbury.

Frederick George Block
A Private with the 2nd Battalion, Frederick died on 24th of April 1917 at the age of 33.
Frederick was born at Kessingland in 1884, a son of George and Annie Block. He was baptised at Saint Edmund's Church, Kessingland on 30 March 1884. In 1891 his family lived at 5 Erskine Place, Lowestoft. By 1901 they were living at 187 Clapham Road and Frederick was a butcher's assistant. In 1911 Frederick lodged at 20 Cambridge Terrace, Saint Leonard's Road, Lowestoft, and he worked as a butcher's assistant. Later his parents lived at High Street, Kessingland.

William Martin Read
A Private with 3rd Bn., William died on 7th of November 1918 at the age of 22.
William was born at Carlton Colville in 1896, a son of George and Elizabeth Read. In 1901 his family lived at Hillary Cottages, Main Road, Carlton Colville. In 1911 their home was at 3 Ormesby Villas, Victoria Road, Oulton Broad, and later they lived at 3 Olive Cottages, Carlton Colville. In 1911 William was at sea and on board the trawler Eclipse, LT 684, at Padstow. His father was the Skipper of the Eclipse.
Frederick Percy Smith
A Private with 3rd Bn., Frederick died on 4th of November 1918 at the age of 23.
Frederick was born at Lowestoft in 1895, a son of Caroline Martha Smith. In 1909 his mother married William Boardley. In 1911 his family lived at 49 Whapload Road, Lowestoft, and Frederick was an errand boy at a drapery.

Owen Hedley Balls
A Private with 4th Bn., Owen died on 27th of September 1918 at the age of 27.
Owen was born at Lowestoft in 1891, a son of Charles Thomas Coleby and Lily Balls. In 1901 his family lived at 20 Alma Road, and this was still their home in 1911 when Owen worked as a grocer's assistant.
On 20 March 1913 Owen married Annie Florence Rutter at Saint Margaret's Church, Lowestoft. Owen was a grocer living at 12 Alma Road, and Annie lived at 7 Saint Margaret's Road. Their home was at 19 Melbourne Road, Lowestoft.
Walter Harry Friston
A Private with 4th Bn., Walter died on 21st of August 1918 at the age of 18.
Walter was born at Gorleston in 1899, a son of Harry and Sophia Ellen Friston. In 1901 his family lived at 12 Nile Road, Gorleston. By 1911 they were living at 6 Bells Marsh Road, Gorleston. Later they lived at 566 London Road, Lowestoft.
Walter enlisted in the Army at Ipswich. Initially he joined the 53rd Battalion Training Reserve, number TR/LON/136130. He was then transferred to the Royal Fusiliers and he served with the 4th Battalion in France from 14 July 1918.
Lewis Stanley Roope
A Corporal with 4th Bn., Lewis died on 28th of March 1918 at the age of 22.
Lewis was born at Lowestoft on 26 February 1896, a son of Joseph and Angetta Roope. In 1901 his family lived at 47 Queen's Road, Lowestoft. From 7 September 1903 Lewis, along with his brother Ernest, attended Saint Margaret's School. In 1911 his family were still living at 47 Queen's Road.
Lewis enlisted in the Army at Norwich. He joined the Royal Fusiliers. From 26 July 1916 he served in France with the 4th Battalion. The Battalion War Diary for 28 March 1918 has:

Charles Leonard Fitt
A Private with 7th Bn., Charles died on 14th of November 1916 at the age of 19.
Charles was born at Norwich on 15 February 1897, a son of Henry William (Harry) and Sarah (Sally) Fitt. He was baptised at Saint James with Pockthorpe Church, Norwich, on 25 March 1897 and his family lived at 20 Cavalry Street, Norwich. In 1901 his family lived at 173 Sprowston Road, Norwich. By 1911 they were living at 3 Eden Street, Lowestoft, and Charles was an apprentice upholsterer. Later his parents lived at Eden Villa, 2 Eden Street, Lowestoft.

Samuel William Lambert
A Private with 9th Bn., Samuel died on 8th of August 1918 at the age of 39.
Samuel was born at Lowestoft in 1879, a son of George Herbert and Emily Elizabeth Lambert. He was baptised at Saint John's Church, Lowestoft, on 28 September 1879 and his family lived at Raglan Street. Note on some records his names are given as William Samuel. In 1881 his family lived at 3 Cambridge Road, Lowestoft. By 1891 Samuel's mother had died and his family lived at 13 Union Place, Lowestoft.
Kenneth Clifford Samuel
A Private with 9th Bn., Kenneth died on 21st of February 1916 at the age of 20.
Kenneth was born at Holloway, London, on 24 October 1895, the only son of Harry Thomas and Adelaide Samuel. In 1901 his family lived at 7 Grand Parade, Archway Road, Hornsey. By 1911 they were living at 24 Wilton Road, Muswell Hill. In 1916 they lived at 149 Beedell Avenue, Westcliff, and subsequently they lived at 2 Raglan Street, Lowestoft.
Kenneth was educated at Tollington School, Muswell Hill, London, and subsequently became an Analytical and Metallurgical Chemist.
Charles Oswald Tuddenham
A Private with 9th Bn., Charles died on 9th of April 1917 at the age of 22.
Charles was born at Lowestoft in 1895, a son of Minnie Florence Pearce. In 1901 his family lived at 210 Raglan Street, Lowestoft. In 1902 his mother married Walter Edgar Tuddenham and his family lived at 6 Oxford Road, Lowestoft.
