A Civilian, Frank died on 29th of September 1940 aged 47.
Frank was born at Lowestoft on 3 June 1893, a son of Charles Pendle and Ellen Sarah Bloomfield. He was baptised at Saint Margaret’s Church on 21 June 1893 and his family lived at 2 Saint George’s Terrace, Beccles Road, and this was still their home in 1901. By 1911 they were living at 29 Saint George’s Terrace and Frank was working as a fisherman. In 1939 Frank’s parents lived at 59 Gorleston Road, Oulton.
In 1913 Frank was awarded his certificate of competency as a Second Hand.

William Boggis
A Seaman with Steam Drifter Reliance (Lowestoft), William died on 7th of October 1917 at the age of 47.
No details of William’s parents, or background before 1902, are known. He may have been born at Lowestoft in 1871.
On 21 January 1902 William married Frances Agnes Portle at Saint Margaret’s Church, Lowestoft. William was a fisherman living at Rotterdam Road and Frances lived at Saint Peter’s Street. Neither of them gave their fathers’ details. In 1911 they lived at 6 High Street and later Frances lived at 40 Crown Street. Frances married James Cross in 1926.

Surtees George Boon
A Second Engineer with the trawler Strathmaree, Surtees died on 28th of January 1944 at the age of 47.
Surtees was born at Mutford on 4 September 1897, a son of George William and Maria Ann Elizabeth Boon. He was baptised at Saint Andrew's Church, Mutford, on 21 September 1897. In 1901 his family lived at Hulver Road, Mutford. They were still living at Hulver Road in 1911 when Surtess worked as a gardener.
During World War One Surtees' father died while serving with the Royal Naval Reserve.

Blanche May Edwards
A Civilian, Blanche died on 23rd of January 1942 at the age of 47.
Blanche was born at Lowestoft in 1894, a daughter of Albert Edward and Eliza Bushell. She was baptised at Saint Margaret’s Church on 1 June 1894, and her family lived at 50 Stanford Street. Blanche’s father was a baker. By 1901 her family were living at 21 Duke’s Head Street, and later her parents lived at 72 Sussex Road. In 1911 Blanche lived at 90 Park Road, and she was a domestic servant working for William and Harriett Green.

Rose Lily Foyster
A Civilian, Rose died on 12th of May 1943 aged 47.
Rose was born at Haverhill on 24 March 1896, a daughter of William and Selina Thake. She was baptised at Saint Mary’s Church, Haverhill, on 1 May 1896, and her family lived at 5 Snapes Yard. In 1901 her family lived at 5 Crowland Road, Haverhill. By 1911 they were living at 4 Waveney Terrace, Haverhill, and Rose was a ticket taker and a cotton warehouse.

William Gallant
A Deck Hand with H.M. Drifter Kent County, William died on 8th of December 1916 at the age of 47.
William was born at Lowestoft on 10 October 1869, a son of James and Emma Gallant. He was baptised at Christchurch, Lowestoft, on 7 November 1869. In 1871 his family lived at Scarl’s Buildings. By 1881 they were living at 10 Burtons Place. In 1891 William was working as a general labourer and lodging at 2 Timpson Street, Liverpool. In 1901 he was working on the trawler Autumn at Penzance.

Gladys Goodman
A Civilian, Gladys died on 12th of May 1943 aged 47.
Gladys was born at Lowestoft on 2 December 1895 a daughter of Robert Charles and Ellen Day. She was baptised at Christ Church, Lowestoft, on 1 January 1896 and her family lived at Cumberland Square. By 1901 Gladys’ father had died and her family lived at Sea View Cottages, East Street. Subsequently her mother remarried, and her family lived at 14 Beckham Road. In 1911 Gladys worked as a beatster and in 1921 she worked as a tin lacquerer at Morton’s factory on Belvedere Road.

George Harvey
A Second Hand with H.M. Drifter Gleaner of the Sea. George died on 26th of October 1916 at the age of 47.
George was born at Brampton, Suffolk, on 8 May 1869, a son of William and Charlotte Harvey. He was baptised at Brampton on 3 October 1869. In 1871 his family lived at Upper Farm Road, Brampton and in 1881 at The Street, Brampton, and George worked as an agricultural labourer.

William Hawkes
A Master (Skipper) with Trawler Rupee (Brixham), Ernest died on 3rd of October 1917.
William was born at Carlton Colville in 1870, a son of Henry and Mary Ann Hawkes. He was baptised at Saint Peter's Church, Carlton Colville, on 29 January 1871. His family lived 'near The Bell' Carlton Colville and this was still their address in 1881.

Edward Albert Jarvis
A Civilian, Edward died on 7th of February 1941 aged 47.
Edward was born at Great Yarmouth on 11 November 1893, a son of Edward and Mary Ann Jarvis. In 1901 his family lived at Lower Weedon, Northamptonshire, and by 1911 they were living at 4 Saint John’s Road, Lowestoft, and Edward was a fisherman. Later his father lived at 16 Saint John’s Road.

Nora Kathleen Lacon
A Civilian, Nora died on 13th of January 1942 aged 47.
Nora was born at Lowestoft on 18 September 1894, a daughter of The Reverend Charles H. and Nora Lacon. Nora was baptised at Saint Guthlac’s Church, Branston, Melton Mowbray, where her father was the Rector, on 11 November 1894. In 1901 her family lived at The Rectory Barton Mills, Suffolk. Later her parents lived at Saint Peter’s Court, Burgess Hill.

Florence Emma Ling
A Civilian, Florence died on 12th of May 1943 aged 47.
Florence was born at Poplar, London, on 27 September 1895, a daughter of Frederick and Margaret Gwyther. In 1901 her family lived at 77 Blair Street, Poplar. In 1911 Florence was a kitchen maid living and working at 4 New Burlington Street, Westminster.
On 14 September 1919 Florence married Alfred Ling at All Saints’ Church, Poplar. Florence was living at 210 High Street, Poplar, and Alfred was an engineer and gave his address as 85 Wollaston Road, Lowestoft. By 1921 they were living at 45 Royal Avenue.

George Alfred Luff
A Shipwright 1st Class with H.M.S. Europa, George died on 25th of November 1945 at the age of 47.
George was born at Portsmouth on 5 November 1898, a son of George Frederick and Agnes Luff. He was baptised at Saint Mary's Church, Portsea, on 5 February 1899 and his family lived at 115 Esslemont Road, Portsmouth, and by 1911 they were living at 73 Jubilee Road, Southsea.
Caroline Mary Norman
A Civilian, Caroline died on 9th of April 1941 at the age of 47.
Caroline was born at Haughley, near Stowmarket, on 25 December 1893, a daughter of George and Alice Sore. In 1901 she lived with her family at Haughley, and at some point her parents lived at 16 Duke Street, Haughley. Caroline married Henry Francis Norman in 1918.
By 1939 Caroline, Henry, and their children, were living at 2 Whitehouse Cottages, Flixton.

Percy Pellew
A Blacksmith 3rd Class with H.M.S. Princess Beatrix, Percy died on 26th of August 1944 aged 47.
Percy was born at Camborne, Cornwall, on 24 June 1897, a son of Isreal and Mary Pellew. In 1901 his family lived at Vynyan Street, Camborne, and in 1911 their address was 11 Vynyan Street, Camborne.
In 1919 Percy married Edith Mary Brown, this was registered in the Mutford district. Their home was at 10 Yeovil Road.
