George Hartley Bradbury

A Lieutenant with the 1/5th Battalion. George died on 18th of February 1921 and the age of 35.

John William Reynolds

John William Reynolds

A Second Lieutenant with the 4th Battalion, John died on 7th of August 1915 at the age of 28. 

John was born at Keswick, Norwich, on 5 April 1887, a son of John William and Agnes Lucy Reynolds. He was baptised at Intwood, with Keswick, on 3 May 1887, and his family lived at Keswick. In 1891 his family lived at The Farm House, Mill Road, Keswick. By 1901 their home was The Poplars, London Road, Lowestoft.

Robert Moon Brand

A Private with 8th Battalion, Robert died on 1st of July 1916 at the age of 25. 

Robert was born at Runham Vauxhall, Great Yarmouth, on 16 October 1890, a son of William George and Mary Elizabeth Brand. Note that on his service papers and in Soldiers Died in the Great War his place of birth is given as Neepsend, Sheffield. Robert was baptised at Great Yarmouth on 21 December 1890. In 1901 his family lived at 9 Saloon Street, Runham Vauxhall, and this was still their him in 1911 when Robert worked as a beer bottler. 

John Reed Walker

A Private with 8th Bn., John died on 7th of June 1917 at the age of 26. 

John was born at Launceston, Tasmania, Australia, on 31 December 1891, a son of Charles Asquith Walker and Maude Clarke Walker. By 1901 his family were living at 88 Craven Road, Leeds, and in 1911 at 36 Shakespeare Road, Rotherham, and John worked as a chemist. After the First World War his family moved to Lowestoft and lived at of 42 A High Street. See house on LowestoftOldAndNow.org

The Hallamshire Bn.

John William Hill

A Lance Corporal with The Hallamshire Bn., John died on 16th of July 1944 at the age of 23. 

John was born at Kingsbridge, Devon, in 1921, a son of George Henry and Eliza Jane Hill. In 1939 his family lived at Rugwell Cottage, South Huish, Devon.

John enlisted in the Devonshire Regiment and was later transferred to serve with the Hallamshire Battalion of the York and Lancaster Regiment. During 1943 the Hallamshires were deployed to Hopton for training and they were based at the 'Golden Sands' holiday camp.
