Timothy John Sterry
A Private with the 10th Battalion, Timothy died on 29 June 1916, at the age of 32.
Timothy was born at Lowestoft on 15 July 1883, a son of Charles and Jane Sterry. In 1891 his family lived at 213 Clapham Road, Lowestoft, and by 1901 the family home was at 42 Queens Road, Lowestoft. By 1911 they had moved to 30 Park Road, Lowestoft. Timothy worked as a fish labourer.

Francis James Balls
A Private with 12th Battalion. Francis died on 7th of December 1916 at the age of 34.
Francis was born at Lowestoft on 16 December 1880, a son of William and Charlotte Balls. He was baptised at Saint John's Church, Lowestoft, on 4 February 1881, and his family lived at 3 Haward Street. Later they lived at 8 Haward Street and, in 1901, at 12 Haward Street.

James Edmonds
A Private with the 12th Battalion, James died on 7th of June 1917 at the age of 28.
James was born at Lowestoft on 23 August 1888, a son of James and Martha Ellen Edmonds. He was baptised at Saint Margaret’s Church, Lowestoft, on 3 March 1889. In 1891 his family lived at 13 Wollaston Road, and this was still their home in 1901. By 1911 his parents were living at 44 Bevan Street.

William Edward Fox
A Private with the 12th Battalion, William died on 24th of July 1918 at the age of 22.
William was born at Lowestoft in 1896, a son of William Gilby and Edith Clara Fox. He was baptised at Saint Margaret’s Church on 3 July 1896 and his family lived at 7 Stanford Street and by 1901 they were living at 61 Stanley Street. William’s mother died and his father remarried. By 1911 his family were living at 247 Clapham Road, and William was a fish packer. In 1913 they lived at 60 Sussex Road, and William was a box maker. Later his family lived at 40 Victoria Road, Tipton, Staffordshire.

Reginald Walton Beck Kittle
A Private with the 1st Battalion, Reginald died on 8th of May 1917 at the age of 23.
Reginald was born at Somerleyton on 23 November 1893, a son of John George and Marth Augusta Kittle. He was baptised at Saint Mary’s Church, Somerleyton, on 21 June 1894. In 1901 his family lived at Herringfleet Road, Somerleyton, and by 1908 they were living at Garden House, Somerleyton. In 1911 Reginald was working with his father as a market gardener. Later his parents lived at Manor House Farm, Saint Olaves Road, Somerleyton.

Frank Russell Parnell
A Private with the 1st Battalion, Frank died on 17th of June 1944 aged 20.
Frank was born at Lowestoft on 11 May 1924, a son of Russell Martin and Alice Mary Parnell. In 1939 his family lived at 59 Fir Lane and Frank was a coal hawker’s assistant.
Frank enlisted in the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Regiment and was transferred to the East Surrey Regiment on 21 October 1943 and he served with the 1st Battalion in Italy.

Lawrence George Hadenham
A Second Lieutenant with the 9th Battalion, Lawrence died on 18 July 1916 at the age of 21.
Lawrence was born at Little Wenlock, Shropshire, in 1895, a son of Samuel and Harriet Hadenham. He was baptised at Little Wenlock on 31 March 1895. By 1901 his family were living 91 Queens Road, Lowestoft. Lawrence was a pupil at Church Road Council school, Lowestoft. By 1911 Lawrence’s mother had died and his family lived at 13 Saint Margaret’s Plain, Lowestoft, and Lawrence worked as a page at a hotel.

George Robert Rackham
A Private with the 9th Battalion, George died on 21st of March 1918 at the age of 37.
George was born at Lowestoft on 14 January 1881, a son of George Isaac and Pheobe Tripp Rackham. He was baptised at Saint Margaret’s Church on 6 March 1881. His family lived at 5 Tonning Street. By 1891 they were living at 30 Raglan Street, and this was still their home in 1901 when George worked as a grocer.

Albert Arthur Soanes
A Private with the 9th Battalion, Albert died on 15th of October 1918 aged 27.
Albert was born at Lowestoft in 1891, a son of Albert and Louisa Soanes. In 1901 he was living with his grandparents at 92 Bevan Street and he still lived with them, at 92 Bevan Street, in 1911 when he, like his grandfather, worked as a butcher.
